Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks
Your team works inside your practice systems
100% Office-Based
Client financials never handled on personal devices
3-5 Weeks
Typical time to hire your first accountant
A dedicated offshore accounting team works inside your practice systems and your review process, taking the high-volume processing and preparation off your qualified accountants. What they produce is prepared to your standards and passed back for review, so partner and senior time goes to advisory, review and client work rather than transactional processing.
In practice, the team owns the repeatable, rules-based work that keeps client files current and month-end moving. See also the accountant roles and bookkeeper roles we staff.
Invoices, payments and receipts are recorded and categorised directly in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, ledgers are kept accurate against your chart of accounts, and client records are brought fully up to date during onboarding. This is high-volume, rules-based work, prepared to your conventions and ready for your accountants to review.
Bank, credit card and clearing accounts are reconciled against the ledger each period, discrepancies are investigated and flagged, and clear reconciliation summaries are prepared for your accountant to review and sign off. The work is structured and repeatable, with defined completion criteria so nothing is left part-finished at month-end.
On payables, supplier invoices are processed and matched to purchase orders and payment runs are prepared for your approval. On receivables, debtor accounts are reconciled, aged receivables reports are prepared, and overdue accounts are followed up in writing, so cash collection stays on track without tying up senior staff.
Payroll data is gathered and checked, gross pay is calculated, and payroll journals with their supporting schedules are prepared for your team to review, approve and process. The offshore team handles the preparation that quietly consumes hours each cycle, while final authorisation and payment always stay in your hands.
Standard audit and review working papers, lead schedules and supporting reconciliations are built to your firm templates, and month-end schedules are compiled from your systems. Everything is assembled and cross-checked so it reaches your accountants ready to review and sign off, which shortens the time each file spends in progress.
Accounting practices are under pressure from several directions at once. Qualified local staff are harder to find. Salary expectations keep rising. Employer payroll taxes and benefits add a significant load on top of every salary. Partners end up doing work that should be delegated because there is nobody to delegate to.
Overhead
Every local accounting hire adds employer payroll taxes and benefits on top of their agreed salary. A bookkeeper at $2,850/month costs $3,350 before you add office space, equipment and HR overhead. The all-in cost consistently exceeds what small practices budget.
$5,600
A mid-level accountant with 3 to 5 years of experience now commands $3,400 to $4,100 per month in base salary. Add payroll taxes, office and equipment allocation, and HR overhead, and the true monthly cost reaches $4,100 to $5,600. An equivalent offshore team member starts from $1,600 per month, all-inclusive.
Tight
Qualified bookkeepers and junior accountants are increasingly difficult to recruit locally. The candidate pool for transactional accounting roles is shrinking as more graduates aim for advisory or corporate finance positions. Vacancies stay open longer and recruitment costs are rising.
Spikes
Month-end, audit season and tax deadlines create predictable capacity spikes. Practices either overhire to cover peak periods, outsource to temporary staff with no practice knowledge, or have partners do transactional work. Each option carries cost, risk or partner time you would rather avoid. A dedicated offshore team absorbs the volume without the overhead.
The day-to-day experience of working with a Plus Back Office accounting team is closer to an in-house junior than most practices expect before they start.
The Philippines sits on GMT+8. Australian firms get strong daytime overlap; US firms run a night shift, which is well established in the Philippine BPO sector.
Your offshore team works in the same Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or practice management system as your team. They follow your chart of accounts, your templates and your naming conventions. In your systems, they are just another user account.
Your offshore team follows your documented procedures. If you have existing SOPs, they use them. If not, we help you document the core processes during onboarding. Work is prepared to your standards and submitted for review before it reaches clients.

The process from initial call to your first offshore accounting team member being operational is typically 4 to 6 weeks.
A 30-minute call to understand your practice, the roles you need to fill and your current workflow. We assess fit and give you a clear picture of what the Cebu model would look like for your specific situation.
We work with you to define the job scope, required qualifications and key tasks. If you have existing SOPs, we review them. If not, we document the core processes together. This takes 2 to 3 working days.
We source and screen candidates against your requirements. You receive a shortlist of 3 to 5 qualified candidates. Two rounds of online interviews, with you participating in the second round. You approve the final hire.
We configure the company-managed desktop, install your accounting software and set up VPN and 2FA access to your systems. Pre-employment checks are completed. Your team member starts with a fully configured workstation.
The first two weeks are a structured onboarding period: orientation, systems training and working through an initial task list under close review by your team. Most team members are fully productive within the first month.
Yes. Your offshore team uses whatever systems your practice runs: Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, CCH, Xero Practice Manager, GreatSoft or any other practice management or accounting platform. We configure secure access on company-managed desktops before the team member starts.
All team members sign confidentiality agreements and data handling policies as part of their employment contracts. Work is conducted on company-managed desktops with no personal device access. The office network uses VPN and 2FA on all external systems. We recommend practices also execute a data processing agreement with Plus Back Office as part of their data protection compliance framework.
We source qualified Filipino accountants with relevant degrees and typically 2 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, transactional accounting or accounting support roles. Many have prior experience working for BPO firms that serve international accounting practices.
Your offshore team follows your SOPs and submits work for review in the same way an in-house junior would. Work is reviewed in your existing systems. Most practices establish a daily or weekly review rhythm for offshore-prepared work.
Your offshore team is dedicated full-time to your practice, so they are available for surge periods the same as any full-time employee. They work within your defined working hours and can be directed to prioritise deadline-driven work during busy periods.
Most accounting roles are filled within 3 to 5 weeks of the discovery call. IT setup, system access and onboarding takes a further 1 to 2 weeks. You can expect your first offshore team member to be fully operational within 4 to 6 weeks of engaging Plus Back Office.
Your bookkeepers and accountants are employed in the Philippines and work from our managed office in Cebu IT Park on company-managed desktops aligned to your business hours.
Yes. The minimum engagement is 2 staff, so many firms build a small offshore team rather than a single hire. A common mix is an accountant plus a bookkeeper, supervised together in our Cebu IT Park office and working your systems. Accountant roles start from $1,600 per person per month all-inclusive.
Book a 30-minute discovery call. We will assess your practice's requirements, identify the right roles to offshore first and give you a clear all-in price. No commitment required.
